Basement range ventilation

How good is the basement range ventilation at Doug's? With lead exposure having been brought up on another forum, I'm curious to know. I've been heading there every other week or so and just wonder if I should be cautious about exposure levels.

I grabbed this from their website.

The range was completely remodeled in 2009, when we installed new target carriers, lane dividers, lighting and distance markers.

The ventilation was upgraded to well above industry standards so that it is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter. We also have a spectator area where your friends and family may sit safely and comfortably to watch you shoot.


I'll send the question over to the manager there for his response.  But I assume, if they've upgraded it, it should be fine.

Received the following.

Sorry to be a little slow to respond.  As far as our range ventilation goes, the entire air in the range is replaced every 70 seconds.  There is a gentle breeze of ~~60 fps across the shooters shoulders.  It is well heated and cooled when appropriate.  I have not had anyone complain about air flow since we did the upgrades.  I am confident our customers are happy with our ventilation.  Lead poisoning is not at all a concern.

It is a huge improvement over the old days when a haze hung across the range.

I used to shoot there at least once a week as my office was close by.  It is still my preference for an indoor range in SLC since it is so low key.
