Utah CCW Stats

Anyone ever look at these stats provided by the State?

Here's a link to the 2011 4th Quarter.

347,262 Total Valid Permits at the end of 2011 with 16,149 permits issued.  That's pretty cool. That's about a 70,000 increase from the end of 2010 with 277,495 Total Valid Permits.  Last time I took the CCW Instructor course, they said that about 50% of those are out of state.

Maybe this year my wife and I can add to the number.... After her being attacked by a dog last week she's more willing to get one.

As soon as I can get into the state class, I will be certified to teach Utah CCW.  I completed my NRA Pistol Instructor about a month ago.

Once I am certified, I will put a post here and offer a deal to forum members.

Makes a guy feel more at ease knowing there's that many of our brothers and sisters at arms out there around us. Much better chance of NOT being the only responding CCW to a bad situation.

Just like the "normal guy" that just happened to be at Smith's in SLC with his CFP and his sidearm when some lunatic decided to buy a knife from the store and start stabbing people with it.

Not a single shot was fired, but the bad guy stopped stabbing people as soon as the CFP-holder deployed his sidearm and ordered the perp to the ground.
